Final evaluation:
.) What I had to do for my continuity and montage project was I had to find three examples of continuity, montage and parallel editing, once I fount three examples I had to then place it on my wix account. I then fount five examples of continuity mistakes and had to write why they are continuity mistakes. I had to create my own film and on this film I created I had to create it at home and it was based off a issue from 2020, I had to create a storyboard about what my film was all going to be about. We then had to create a film where we all wrote scripts and the style of shot we used when we filmed it was a continuity shot.
.) How I planned my final piece was I had to do a storyboard but the original idea I had which was about the Australian wildfires had to be put on hold because I couldn't film it during the pandemic. The new idea I got after that was about a home video idea where I show you my lockdown routine and what I done everyday during lockdown.
.) Yes, I feel like I have a good understanding of all the film techniques. Before watching clips about continuity, parallel and montage editing I had no clue what they meant.
.) The skills I feel like I have learnt for my project three projects how to use continuity, montage and parallel editing. How this will help me in the future is if I want to do something that involves film then I can use either of the three film techniques.
.) Yes, I feel like my film has met the brief because I was asked to focus on a political issue from 2020 and the political issue I have focused on from 2020 was lockdown, how I done this film was I based it off my everyday lockdown routine, the shot/ editing style I used while filming this was a continuity style.
.) My mistakes when doing this project is when I was filming, when I was filming at home I made so many errors and when I filmed at college with my mate I kept messing up my lines, came in too early. The successes I felt like I had while I was doing this project was I got a clearer understanding of what continuity, parallel and montage meant, as well as I learnt about the Lev Kuleshov effect and learnt a bit more about the history of editing, I also done a cinematography and lighting page where I added all about the different shot sizes, what is framing, composition, why we use focus in photography and filming, the quantity of lights in photo, the quality of lights in photos so basically if it is a hard light or a soft light, the amount of lighting, the direction of light in photography and lastly the line of action. And lastly I had to do a risk assessment and on this risk assessment I had to go on a power point and had to point out some risks, write risks in films. What I would do differently when doing this project again is focus on doing more videos.
.) How this project will help me in the future is I want to do something that involves media or is media based and by passing this project I can then start filming using the different styles.
