Intentions:
The aim of this project was we got a genre that we had to focus on and this genre was horror.
The context of my work is I had to create a double page magazine spread and on this double page magazine spread I am talking about Stephen King and about the three books I chose and them 3 books I chose was It, the stand and the shining. I had to do a word document which I labelled 'mind map horror' once I done this I chose to do the theme horror books and then after that chose to do there author Stephen King.
The extent I feel I achieved my aims is I had a 4 week plan, I had to try and keep up to date with it and I feel I like I achieved that aim because I planned my final major project, I made a mood board a mind map and how I made the mood board which was on photoshop and I made a mind map and how I made my mind map was on power point. By using photoshop I feel it helped me in this massively because it helped me by using the text tool, helped me in terms of using the cutting tool.
Research:
The extent of my research was I got some research off of the internet about informal mode of address, formal mode of address, cover terminology, what a visual and written codes are, why they're used in magazine articles, the sub headings and headings are used for when writing magazine articles, and the images writers add to their work so people can get a brief description about what is going on.
How my knowledge of this subject has helped me with this idea is because when I was younger I used to read a lot of magazines, and when I started to read these magazines I started to know a bit more about the front cover of a magazine.
How successful my research was in developing my project was before researching about cover terminology, direct and informal, indirect and formal, visual and written codes, before researching all this I didn't have a clue what all these meant so when I researched it, it was very helpful when doing my final major project because I needed to have some of this research when doing my final major project.
Development:
How the development and experiments helped with my final major project is when I planned my idea I planned it as a double page magazine article. The reason why I developed it like a magazine spread is so I can go into greater detail about everything I've added to this double page magazine spread.
Methods of working:
The stage I decided to make the final outcome of this project that I'm doing is when I made a 4 week plan and it was during week 3 when it was all about creating my final piece that I decided to structure my final project all together, how this enabled me to build on my statement of intent was once I finished writing what I wanted to do about it I got it done.
The reason why these methods were so successful was I had to stick by 4 week plan, the reason why I had this 4 week plan was so I can stick to it and not lose focus, by doing this I was going through the plan week by week and ticking everything off I originally planned.
The main strengths of working this way was it showed me I can get anything done when I set my mind towards it, I never let the facts that I only had 4 weeks bother me and I used that to my strength and focused and took my time and I'm glad with how the final piece came out.
The one and only weakness which I can mainly point out was we only had 4 weeks to get it all done and completed, besides that there was really no other weaknesses I can really point out.
No, I wouldn't like to change anything about the methods I used while doing this project because I think the methods I used was perfect and I didn't need to perfect upon it. if I was to have changed some methods I don't think the outcome would be the same.
My final outcome:
How my final outcome fulfils my original proposal is I was told to do a double page magazine spread about a theme which was horror, and from then on I'm writing about the author who was Stephen King going into detail about him, his personal life, his best books and films which he produced, and then I went on to talk about three of his best books which were in my opinion his best sellers.
How my final outcome was relatable to my initial statement of intent is I made this plan which I ultimately stuck to a plan which I done and my final article was based off that. I also made a word document and on this word document I started to talk bout Stephen King and the three books I chose which were it, the stand and the shining.
In my opinion I think my final piece was very successful, the only reason why I thought it was very successful was because of the plan I had stuck to, without that plan I don't think it would've been as successful as I would've liked because there wouldn't have been enough time or effort without a plan, with a plan I had lots of time and effort.
What extent the final outcome will fulfill is when I've passed this project it will help me massively in the future when I'm older because I want to do something that involves media and me passing this will help- that dream become more achievable.
The only two changes that were a problems that occurred while I was doing this project is I had to re create my final design because there was two problems with it and them problems were
1.) the writing and picture were too close to the edge of the magazine
2.) I had to use my own photography of me looking like a author.
Besides that there was no other problems that occurred.
When I asked my teacher what he thought about my final design he thought it was good but he also said there is always room for improvements, I was told that the pictures (of the books) and the writing was right next to the line of where the picture and writing.
How I feel about my project is it went really well and I got everything I needed to get done completed, I also was grateful that I made a 4 week plan because without that 4 week plan I would've been stuck.
Project management:
How I planned my time is I had 4 weeks and during them 4 weeks I planned it like that. On week 1 I had to plan it all out, choose why I'm doing it. On week 2 I was mainly researching what I had to do to make it as successful as it needed to be and research the author and the three books. On week 3 it was me just creating my final piece and how I created my final piece was on photoshop. On week 4 its just me evaluating my work and taking time to reflect what I had done.
I managed it how I originally intended and I didn't really have to re consider my time because the way I planned it is I planned it in weeks, this way I can use the weeks I planned out as the time I need to focus on getting everything done.
I didn't have a diary when I planned my final major project as I had to do it on a word document but when I done it, it was very effective in managing the time for my project.
Additional development/ improvements:
What I need to do next time is do more extensive visits and experience so it can help me inspiring my project even further.
If I could re do any section it would be my magazine article and research page and go into greater depth about what everything means again and try and use all that information in my double page magazine spread.
If I was given 10 weeks to try and extend this project then what I would do to improve everything is maybe plan it more on a word document because where I only had 4 weeks to plan it, get it done on photoshop and then publish it on my wix I only had a small time frame, whereas if I had 10 weeks to do everything again I can go into greater depth about the plan even more, will have much more time on photoshop to do it and can talk about it more and explain what everything I done. How I would develop this even further is take my time with it and not rush it as much because everything will be in a bigger time frame and not so rushed.
