What is a Risk?
A risk is something you take in day to day life and if it works it doesn't work.
The biggest risk I've taken in life is slicing a golf through my parents patio door then it started to shattered then my parents decided to have a go at me and then they threatened to kick me out of the house.
how can we evalaute risks:
If you're part of the film industry then the only way you know how to evaluate risks is by completing a risk assessment. The way actors take a risk assessments is firstly they identify if the risk is quite bad and if it poses a threat to them or not.
How probable is the risk: How we can check the probability of the risk is we have to times the severity of it and then we will find the probability of the risk because severity x probability+ the possibility of the risk.
In movies, you know the severity is high when the risk level is 1 and you know when the probability is high because then the probability could be 4.
Possible risks in 4 examples:
The risks that could happen while you're doing a video shoot is you have to be aware of your surroundings because if you're not careful of your surroundings then you can easily fall into the water and therefore can drown. The controls that have to be put in is put safety tape around all the areas that aren't protected.
Three examples of accidents that happened on a movie sets is in the film the dark knight, how there was a accident in this is when they were filming one of the scenes the cameraman was killed as the vehicle missed a 90 degree angle and then it crashed into a tree. How this could've been prevented is if the the car didn't miss the 90 degree angle and then the cameraman wouldn't have passed away.
In the second example of accidents that happened on movie sets, we're going to be focusing on the film the twilight zone. How there is a movie accident in this film the twilight zone is when there was a scene that was based around in Vietnam battle and all of a sudden there was a helicopter crash that happened this then made actors decapitate such asVic Morrow and child actors My-ca Dinh Le and ReneeShin-Yi Chen. The director who was directing the film was sent in for a trial event but the jury who decided to witness the footage found the director innocent. How this could've been prevented is if the helicopter didn't lose gas and then started to crash this could've been prevented and the people who lost their lives on that day wouldn't have lost it.
In the third and final example of accidents that happen while on the movie set is we're going to focus on the movie the wizard of oz. While filming, there was a host of trouble with several of the actors sufferings burns, physical injuries and lung damage which happened while they were filming. The wicked witch Margaret Hamilton suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns while on the set for the wizard of oz, the witches stunt double suffered loads of injuries, Buddy Ebson the original tin man suffered a very bad reaction to the silver makeup which was used on his skin and he suffered permanent lung damage.
The possible risks that can occur while you're filming in a forest is deep cuts into your knees, not knowing your surroundings and something that is poisonous can poison you and make you feel unwell. What you can do to make sure it is safe and you can't have a chance of injuring yourself is make sure you double check your surroundings and make sure you check to see if there are any signs that there are no animals who are poisonous and make sure you move everything that you can potentially cut yourself on.
The possible risks that can happen when you're filming on some mountains is the fear of hypothermia as well as the fear of death. What you can do to make sure you're safe from these risks is find a mountain that has quite a low yet stable bottom so it's not as easy to lose your balance, to also make sure you can't sustain any injuries I guess you can film on the ground and jut have the mountains as a nice backdrop for whatever it is you're filming.
The possible risks that can occur while you're filming in a desert is you got to be careful that the sand doesn't get in your eyes and that there are no sand storms coming and that there is nothing in your way e.g branches, stones etc etc. What you can do to make it a safe place for filming is take away all the obstacles that could be potentially in your way.
